Awards Season for JB's Too

Awards and commendations are not only flattering, they are a nice reminder that hard work has achieved the ultimate goal: satisfied Guests. They are also a chance to take a moment to reflect on the efforts made to get to this point. At Jawny Bakers we know that the awards we have received over this past year are not simply down to two people owning and operating a restaurant, but rather as a result of all the great things our and loyal and giving staff do and of course, our valued patrons who choose to include us in their relaxation time with friends and families.   

So, as summer draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to brag a little and, on behalf of our excellent front-of-house servers, our talented kitchen staff and our devoted customers, tell you about our recent recognitions.  

For those of you who live in the area, you’ll know the reputation of the East York Mirror as a weekly staple for local news, events and public opinion. Every year the paper polls their 40,000+ readers to rate the best service providers in the community under a variety of categories. Under their Food and Drink banner, Jawny Baker’s did extremely well. And given we’re a locally owned and operated restaurant up against large chains with national brand recognition, we are especially proud to have stood out so distinctly.  Here are some of the highlights:

Best Restaurant Atmosphere – DIAMOND

Best All-Round Restaurant – GOLD

Best Family Restaurant – SILVER 

Best Local Pub – SILVER

Best Outdoor Patio – SILVER

and for the very first time, we received awards from the Beach Mirror Readers:

Even we’re impressed! While it is great that some of our menu items are so popular, what means most personally is that, overall, Jawny Bakers is giving our Guests a great overall experience. Continuing to create an environment that’s welcoming and comfortable has been our goal since setting out on this adventure 20 years ago. It means a lot to everyone at Jawny Bakers that people choose us over all other venues to enjoy their meals and relax with drinks. So from all of us at Jawny Bakers we thank you, the people we love to make happy. 

However, we’ve never been ones to rest on our laurels. We know that the only way to earn customer appreciation is to keep honing our ability to meet diners needs on a regular and ever-changing basis. By responding to your requests, frequently elevating our healthy and innovative menu features, and improving restaurant, bar, lounge and patio spaces, we continue to please you. 

So please don’t hesitate to offer your thoughts and recommendations next time you’re in. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.

BEST TOURNAMENT IN THE CITY CELEBRATES 20 YEARS!

Thanks to Providence Healthcare Foundation for putting on another incredible event! Here is the summary from this past Monday's golf tournament successes posted below.

The 20th anniversary celebration of the Ken & Nancy Shaw Providence Golf Classic was the most successful tournament in our history - raising an impressive $180,000 (net) for Providence Healthcare! We are so grateful to all of our generous sponsors, donors and supporters, who provide some of the resources necessary to continue Providence’s legacy of exceptional care long into the future. A heartfelt thanks goes out to the Founders of the Providence Golf Classic - Gus Arrigo, Bill Cooke and Dusty Miklas - who began this tradition of excellence and who continue to be an integral part of the tournament’s success. Click here to learn more about Providence. 

As our most devoted ambassadors, we thank you for not only helping to ensure this special day was a resounding fundraising success for Providence, but also for spreading the word and cultivating those all-important relationships within our community. Coppinwood Golf Club was a golfer’s paradise! The challenges of the course blended with the natural beauty of the Ontario landscape. It was a wonderful and memorable day, dedicated to a shared purpose: to honour a tournament that has stood the test of time, and to provide the best golf experience ever! Here are some of the highlights from our 20^thanniversary celebration:

·         Special thanks to PGC Chair, George Macri, Vice-Chair, Tom Zoras, and the PGC Committee for their valued contributions and time spent preparing for this milestone event.

·         Emcee Ken Shaw shared his personal message with guests; how he first became involved with the PGC tournament (over 15 years ago!); and what inspires him to continue to support Providence.

·         Reptilia brought a collection of exotic reptiles, amphibians and even a few arachnids for golfers to observe and touch…if they dared!

·         Two incredible Hole-In-One contest holes, each with a chance to win an Audi luxury vehicle, sponsored by PFAFF Audi. View the PFAFF Audi website here.

·         Special treats along the course that included: Molson Coors beer and Jack Daniel’s “Country Cocktail” tasting, a mojito station, fish tacos, beef sliders and ice cream sandwiches.
